“To Each His Dulcinea” shot on VariCam LT by Cinematographer Dejan Georgevich

Say hello to the newest addition to Panasonic’s cinema camera line. The Cinema VariCam LT features outstanding image quality that allows you to achieve your “VISION”. The advanced grading tools, in-camera dailies and proxy recording capabilities that are built into the VariCam LT are a “REVOLUTION” in streamlining workflow.

No wonder independent filmmakers, documentary makers and content creators alike love this new power-packed avatar of the VariCam. Cinematographer Dejan Georgevich shot “To Each His Dulcinea” on the VariCam LT all over NY and NJ. All the dark scenes in the film are shot with ISO5000.   After seeing the video RedSharkNews.com calls the camera a ‘low light virtuoso’ and notes that it has an ‘almost effortless ability … to perform well in low light’.

Filmmaker Ben Develin shot a lot of exciting wildlife footage with the VariCam LT and loves the camera’s capabilities, “The image quality is superb. The skin tones are accurate, edges are sharp and detailed and the picture has a very filmic look with just a simple curve applied in post.”

The VariCam LT inherits the same super 35mm sensor and superb imaging capabilities that distinguish the award-winning VariCam 35, but with significant reductions in size, weight and price. Incorporating this identical imaging “DNA” in a more compact version, the VariCam LT delivers 14+ stops of dynamic range with V-Log, and the same cinematic Var-iCam image quality and color science, as well as the VariCam 35’s breakout innovation, dual native ISOs of 800/5000. Weighing just under six pounds and having superior capability to similar sized cameras, the VariCam LT is the ideal companion for handheld, SteadiCam, jib, crane, drone, gimbal and overall cinema verité work.

It differs from the VariCam 35 in being a one-piece, short-bodied camcorder vs. a two-piece camera head plus recorder. While the VariCam LT does not feature parallel sub-recording, it does have an SD slot for high-resolution proxy recording. Proxy files can be wirelessly uploaded via FTP, which facilitates wireless color grading. Variable frame rates are available with LongG6 recording making it an effortless piece for the newsroom as well.
